About The Journey
After 33,000 miles over 4 years in our Class B Winnebago Travato van, named Lena, we decided we were ready for something more. We have planned a one-year trip with the route determined by average temperature. We think 70 degrees is a good temperature to travel by — not too hot; not too cold. We have planned, prepared, upgraded, worked through logistics, etc. We left May 1, 2022. We had a “trial run” or “shakedown” trip in January/February, heading south for five weeks, to test our packing/planning abilities. Thumbs up! All went well.
We plan on learning new things, meeting new people and seeing friends and family. Contact us if you have ideas of where we should stop — maybe your place!
The plan was in the works for several years. Started as a dream, really. Three consecutive weeks is the longest we had “lived” in Lena, have had some great adventures and believe we will be able to “slow down” and enjoy the journey even more! We made small changes to Lena to suit our lifestyle, and it is fine tuned to make the trip.
